Songwriting

Just a quick one for songwriters.

I like writing, not for any reason but it seemed the "common" thing to do when you sing and play and instrument.
However, I only have religious songs and when I've tried to write a secular one, it seems wrong; the words don't flow as well and it seems purposeless compared to a worship song that can be simple yet so touching.

Any ways of getting round this?
Is it a necessary bad thing that I struggle to write secular lyrics?

Post away si vous plait :)

  1. it's strange, I have the opposite problem!
I feel that I can write so easily about boys and life stuff, but when it comes to writing about God, no song I have seems to be of worth to keep editing it
So I wouldnt take it as a negative, and there is so many layers to God, you could write songs forever
where as the plainold life stuff gets to be repetitive! xxxx
